It was a cold gloomy and snowy night in Detroit making it the perfect time to head down to the Masonic temple for the best christmas show in Detroit “Black Christmas” Presented by Black Iris Booking. Arriving to the venue late i managed to make it in time to head up to the stage and claim my spot to see Never Ending Game. A Detroit Hardcore band a with heavy beatdown attitude and with there new album “Outcry” released back in may of 2023 there was alot of anticipation to see this set. I was supper stoked to hear “Tank On E” and “Never Die” my 2 favorite songs by them. The coordination and well put together rhythm made for a killer set. it was fun watching the fans 2 step and stage dive they really showed there true love for NEG as they were onstage singing songs word for word with the vocalist mike. If you were to ask anyone from the hardcore scene in Michigan who was the hardest Hc band they would say “Cold As Life”. With their insane violent history and historic background its a miracle that i was able to watch them play. Though they have such a violent past the Detroit HC scene and the band have changed so much. I really enjoyed seeing younger kids at the show stage diving on rotation and all the locals moshing and singing along.The vibes felt very family like and comfortable was stoked to hear “Born To Land Hard” a classic song from them. The Black Christmas Event is something i hope to attend every year, if your in the Detroit area or home for the holidays you need to look into this event!
