The five piece Los Angeles based hard-core band Momentum was up first. Playing bangers off their self titled that was released back in September 2021. With aggressive style and beat down attitude it was the perfect opener to set the night off. Next, we have Judiciary a Texas based hard-core outfit. They had recently released a new record “flesh and blood” that was an absolute masterpiece to hear live and is an album that should be on every hardcore kids playlist. Claiming the stage next, all the way from San Jose, California we have Sunami. The band has been rising to the top extraordinarily fast, And after seeing them live for my first time, I now understand why. The ignorant heavy beatdown pissed off attitude that these guys express from their music just makes people want to move. It was an absolute pleasure to see this band live. The Texas heat moves in next after four long years of silence Kublai Khan TX was ready to make some noise. Playing hits like Swan song, the hammer, resentment, and antpile. The people of Detroit were going all out from fist swinging in the pit to crowd surfers on repeat and even woman throwing underwear on stage lol. Matt Honeycutt, the vocalist saying he remembers playing downstairs in the shelter back in 2018. He expressed his love for Detroit and for the great hard-core scene that we have here within the city. This is only the first wave of tour. The second wave with Harms Way, Pain of Truth and justice for the damned is set to start sometime in May. If this headliner show is coming to a major city near you this is a must see because who knows how long they may go silent again.
